AT CASTOR, WE DRIVE FASTER, SMARTER MEDICAL RESEARCH

We believe that faster, more diverse clinical trials help extend the human health span and provide a greater return on investment.

We strive to improve the clinical trial experience for patients, sites and sponsors, using technology to accelerate every step of the clinical trial journey.

Our modular clinical trial platform enables the capture and re-use of research data from anywhere, anytime and helps optimize each activity in the clinical trial journey by reducing human effort with technology. From recruitment to monitoring, we help make it easier to design and deploy trials, enroll and engage patients, collect data and analyze results.

If you’re passionate about designing innovative solutions for the clinical research industry and thrive in a dynamic SaaS environment, we’d love to hear from you!

The main focus of the role

In the Solution Architect role you will bridge the gap between business needs and technical solutions. You will collaborate with Castor’s key customers and internal teams to create scalable, secure, and reliable solutions that align with business needs. The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise, deep knowledge of SaaS architectures, and familiarity with clinical trial workflows, regulatory requirements, and clinical research data management practices.

The Solution Architect is also responsible for all assurance activities related to the availability, integrity and confidentiality of customer, business partner, employee and business information in compliance with our information security policies.

What you’ll be doing

  • Collaborate with clinical research organizations (CROs), sponsors, and clinical sites to understand their needs and map them to the Castor platform.
  • Provide technical consulting and custom solution designs for implementations with complex workflows.
  • Identify integration opportunities and design APIs or connectors for seamless data exchange between the Castor platform and other clinical systems.
  • Support complex technical issues and challenges faced by customers, ensuring timely resolution and a positive customer experience.
  • Recommend and implement innovative solutions to improve platform performance, scalability, and user experience.
  • Identify opportunities for automation and AI-driven enhancements within the Castor platform.
  • Work closely with Customer Success Managers, Project Managers, Senior Solution Architects, and other internal stakeholders to ensure that solutions meet functional and non-functional requirements.
  • You will be following the Castor quality policy, information security policy, the code of conduct and the procedures from the Quality and Information Security Management system (QISMS) and ensure compliance with industry standards (CDISC, SDTM) and regulatory frameworks (FDA 21 CFR Part 11, GDPR).

What you’ll bring

    • Technical expertise
      • 3+ years of experience in customer-facing roles, preferably within a fast-paced SaaS company.
      • Good knowledge of clinical data standards (CDISC, SDTM, ODM) and experience with integrating CDMS systems.
      • Good knowledge of programming languages like R or Python, SQL and API tools like Postman.
    • Industry knowledge
      • Relevant understanding of clinical guidelines: ICH-GCP - Good Clinical Practice, FDA 21 CFR Part 11, and relevant GXP Regulations and Guidances.
      • Understanding of clinical trial processes and data management workflows (EDC, eCOA, CTMS, or similar systems).
    • Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills
    • Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
    • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills with the ability to think creatively and strategically.
    • Communication & Collaboration Skills
      • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
      • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, agile environment with cross-functional teams.
    • Experience
      • 3+ years of experience in solution architecture or technical consulting in the SaaS space, preferably with CDMS or clinical research platforms.
      • Proven track record of designing and implementing enterprise-level solutions for clients in the healthcare or life sciences industry.
      • Experience working with CROs, clinical sites, or pharmaceutical companies is highly desirable.
