The Role
As an Engineering Manager, you will play a major role in taking our industry-leading SaaS platform to the next level. You will lead innovation of our core platform that powers our reporting application.


Responsibilities

  • Be responsible for the Survey Engine/broadcaster.
  • Lead the team to design and drive the execution plan for successfully delivering high quality software components and services.
  • Help the engineering team to architect for next level of scale and execute on the development plans.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across engineering to effectively align against goals, roadmap, and commitments.
  • Measure project progress using KPI(s) and Metrics and communicate plans and updates on a frequent basis.
  • Build a high-performing team. Hire the very best and provide opportunities for team members to grow and prosper.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience directly managing people in a front-line role
  • 10+ years experience in a technical role (developer or architect) working on distributed systems, platform infrastructure, or cloud services
  • Managers that have grown from a technical background into people leadership
  • Demonstrated experience growing a team from outside your organization
  • Demonstrated experience managing the software development lifecycle using agile methodologies
  • Demonstrated experience working in a global company with geographically distributed teams
  • BS/MS in Computer Science, Computer/Electrical Engineering, or related field


Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong OOP knowledge; design patterns
  • 5+ years of experience with Java
  • Relational database experience (PostgreSQL, Oracle, MySQL, etc)
  • ORM Framework & dependency injection framework experience (Hibernate, Spring Boot, etc)
  • Experience with caching (synchronization, cache eviction, available tech, etc)
  • Building REST APIs
  • NoSQL experience (Redis, Cassandra, MongoDB, etc)
  • Messaging/stream processing (Kafka, RabbitMQ, etc)
  • Docker & Kubernetes experience
  • Built highly scalable systems that are used by millions of people
  • Implemented tools and frameworks to enable monitoring, logging, alerting, and debugging at scale
