About the role:

As a proactive leader, supported by a team of four data portfolio managers, our Head of Data Portfolio understands the current landscapes of life sciences data and pharmaceutical pipelines and is able to envision the future direction of both.

As a key member of the Partnerships leadership team, your role will be to build a comprehensive view of our existing portfolio and, working closely with the Business Development and Data Science teams, anticipate the needs for future datasets. Drawing on your domain expertise, you’ll develop a clear strategy, and advise on areas of focus, and resources required to remain ahead of the curve.

Responsible for data mapping worldwide, and as the main contact regarding data and sample needs within the company, you and your team will assess the feasibility of data requests and their place within Owkin’s data portfolio..

Closely collaborating with Key Opinion Leaders from Owkin’s growing academic network, there is the opportunity to identify, develop and lead scientific boards across various medical areas.

In particular, you will:

  • Build a comprehensive assessment of our existing portfolio and advise on how to maximise efficiencies and return on investment.
  • In collaboration with your business development, data science and data platform colleagues, drawing on your market knowledge, develop a clear strategy for our future dataset needs.
  • Conduct proactive, global scientific and technology watches to explore sources of multimodal datasets & ensure up-to-date data hunt methodologies and fit-for-purpose tools.
  • Anticipate market and business demands to ensure proactivity around securing access to relevant data.
  • Lead data mapping and portfolio activities, including assessing the feasibility of any data requests.
  • Be responsible for having a 360-view of our data assets, and able to act as the data content expert within the company.
  • Attend client meetings with our business development team, to contribute deep portfolio insights and thought leadership for future potential.
  • Recruit and engage medical advisors based on existing and future needs, and animate board of KOLs, focusing on multimodal data & samples in oncology, I&I, CVD and neurology.

Position is based in our Paris or Nantes offices or remotely, ideally from UK or France.

About you

Required qualifications / experience:

  • BS/MSc in Business, Engineering, Medical or an associated field.
  • Proven leadership experience within a pharma company.
  • Deep understanding of data portfolio strategy and management within the pharma and biotech industries and particularly its consideration and functions within pharma pipelines.
  • Previous experience animating and maintaining boards of KOLs, ideally within at least one indication among oncology, CVD, Immunity & Inflammation or Neurology.
  • Strong business vision with an ability to balance executing on immediate needs with driving strategic direction.
  • Ability to prioritise and to juggle multiple work streams.
  • Highly resilient and adaptable, capable of thriving in a rapidly evolving environment.
  • A team player who enjoys building collaborative relationships with colleagues and clients.
  • An ability to effectively engage with stakeholders from diverse backgrounds.
  • Strong written and oral communication and presentation skills in English and French.
  • Experience in leading external resources and budget
