🚀🚀Job Mission

As our Engineering Area Lead for the Data Area, you will head up our data teams which are distributed in different parts of the organisation as well as our Data Platform squad that sits directly in the Data Area within House of Engineering.

You will lead our Data Scientists doing ML and building consumer-facing data products in our product development squads. You will head up our Data Platform squad building our data platform progressively refining data from all data producers across the company.

You will also lead our Data Analysts providing BI and data insights across all houses of Tibber with self-service as a guiding principle. Above all you will build a team and a strategy to start building what we want to be when we grow up. Some of your responsibilities (but not limited to) will include:

Change leadership. You lead our teams of experienced and passionate Data & Product Analysts, Data Scientists & Data Engineers through hiring, coaching, mentoring, feedback, and hands-on career development fostering a psychologically safe environment.

Vision-based mindset on data analysis for the future. You continuously scale the data function as new products and services are implemented.

Translate business needs into operations. You will develop, own, and execute a roadmap to maximize data capabilities and business insights in line with the data area’s mission, vision, and objectives as well as our overall business KPIs.

Help to reduce siloed ways of working. You will facilitate collaboration with other Engineers, Product Managers, and Designers for solutions in getting us closer to our missions, visions, and objectives.

Foster an empowering and safe data area. You will continuously help us build and cultivate a healthy, transparent, and open engineering culture that's inclusive and really fun and rewarding to work in.

Strategically minded. You are strategic and have proven successful experience in implementing data systems and organisation at scale.

Facilitating complex technical discussions. You can facilitate and drive technical delivery whether it's architectural alignment or contributing to the solution yourself.

Stakeholder management and buy-in. You communicate well and pinpoint the gist of what your stakeholders need to know and are in line with the other business areas’ delivery objectives.

Servant leadership mentality. You have a proven track record of building and cultivating a strong engineering culture through a servant management style in an agile environment. You thrive when developing great people, not just great tech and data products.

Business first mindset. You care about the development experience, agile software practices, and conscious experimentation.

Technical competence. You have a strong data engineering background and keep yourself familiar with industry trends and product offerings and can understand trade-offs to solutions. You have proven and successful experience managing teams across all areas of data.
